SEAT : Salsa

SEAT Salsa, a new concept in motoring

The first SEAT of the year 2000 now has a name: it is Salsa.

This is SEAT’s proposal for the future. The Spanish make is presenting a prototype in this edition of the International Geneva Motor Show. It is a novel concept in the car sector. Under the name of Multi Driving Concept (MDC), the vehicle has the capacity to adapt to the type of driving that the user wants.

The SEAT Salsa, designed wholly by SEAT’s Design Centre in Martorell, is characterised by smooth and attractive lines, a 250 hp 6 cylinder V engine, 5 speed Tiptronic gearbox and 4-wheel drive.

In addition, the vehicle can be enjoyed in any one of three combinations of interior. By operating the MDC switch on the central dashboard, the driver can choose one of three modes: sport, comfort or city. According to the option chosen, the appearance of various elements of the car are changed. These include the layout of the dashboard, the driving position and the interior lighting.

SEAT is consolidating its prestigious position in the European market with advanced design models that are comfortable, efficient and sporty. The SEAT Salsa has a Mediterranean flavour and is an indication of the rhythm of a company that, in just one year, has launched five new models onto the market: Toledo, Ibiza, Córdoba, Córdoba Vario and León.
