Anne Stevens - Executive Director-Vehicle Operations, Manufacturing

Anne Stevens is executive director - Vehicle Operations, Manufacturing, a position that she was appointed to in January 2000. Her responsibilities include overseeing the operations of 18 automotive assembly plants in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Prior to her present position, Stevens had been director of the Manufacturing Business Office for Ford in North America. In this position she was responsible for capacity planning, new program coordination for manufacturing, business and manufacturing labor strategy.

Stevens joined Ford Motor Company in 1990 as a marketing specialist in the Plastic Products Division, Vehicle Exterior Systems. In 1992, she was named manager, Quality Services Department at the Saline (Mich.) Plant in Ford's Plastic and Trim Products Division.

In 1995, Stevens became manufacturing manager for Ford Automotive Components Division's (ACD) Plastic and Trim Products Operations. She later went on to become plant manager for Ford ACD's Enfield (England) Plant in 1995.

While at Enfield, Stevens was successful in designing and obtaining approval for a £45 million facility expansion and product change program, as a major step in securing the competitiveness of the plant that manufactures electronic instrumentation and major plastic automotive moldings.

In 1997, Stevens was named assistant vehicle line director, Small Car Vehicle Center for Ford Automotive Operations in Dunton, England, with responsibility for Fiesta, Ka and Puma vehicles.

While in Britain, Stevens was a leader in the North London Regeneration effort through work on the North London Leadership Council, the Meridian Business Park Association, the North London Training Education Councils and the London Manufacturing Group, for which she served as Acting-Chair for six months. Also, she was elected for a two-year term as a Councilor for the London Region of the Confederation of British Industries and served on the advisory boards of Middlesex University Business School and Tavistock Institutes.

Prior to joining Ford, Stevens held various engineering and manufacturing positions at Exxon Chemical Company. Born Dec. 3, 1948 in Reading, Penn., Stevens holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Materials Engineering and has studied Business on a graduate level at New York and Rutgers universities.
