Change of name for Micro Compact Car smart GmbH: On the way to a multi-product brand with the new name "smart GmbH"

The market launch of the smart roadster and smart roadster-coupé next year is a first decisive step towards extending the smart product range and this emphasises the potential of the brand. This important step is also being documented in the company's corporate image: as of today "Micro Compact Car smart GmbH" will become "smart GmbH".

This name change also reflects the opening from a single product brand to a multi-product brand, which is no longer just limited to the segment of extremely compact cars. However smart remains the small-vehicle division of the DaimlerChrysler group.

In addition to the new company name, smart GmbH will have a modified logo and the brand slogan "open your mind.". The modified logo combines a graphic symbol with the smart lettering to create a word and pictogram logo. The pictogram is protected by copyright worldwide.

"open your mind." applies to the customers, the products and the smart corporate philosophy. smart cars are full of ideas and offer their drivers individual solutions. Drivers of a smart see the world with their eyes wide open, they are unprejudiced and open to new experiences.
