Lexus SC 430 Convertible Is Neiman Marcus' Fantasy Car
Limited Edition 'Silver Belle with Candy Cane Red Interior' Is Showcase Vehicle for the Retailer's 2001 Fantasy Christmas Book
TORRANCE, Calif. - The "Silver Belle" -- a limited edition Lexus SC 430 -- will be the featured vehicle in the highly anticipated annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, the upscale retailer's ultimate wish book featuring the most luxurious gifts for the holidays. The exclusive special edition retractable hardtop convertible, with its "Silver Belle" exterior color and hand stitched "Candy Cane Red" leather interior, promises to be one of the hottest items in the retailer's 75th Anniversary edition of the popular holiday tradition.
Lexus' first-ever convertible, the SC 430 was launched this spring and was an instant hit. With inventory virtually sold out and reports of waiting lists of up to eight months, this exclusive Neiman Marcus edition is likely the only opportunity to receive a new Lexus SC 430 convertible in time for the holidays.

Offered exclusively through the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, which will be distributed to millions of homes in the United States and abroad beginning Sept. 24, only 99 Silver Belles will be available for purchase beginning Oct. 1, 2001 at 7:00 AM (PDT) at the price of $70,000. (Orders are placed by calling 1-877-34-SC430.) The 100th car will be auctioned through Shop@AOL at a later date to benefit charity.
In addition to the special edition interior and exterior colors, other exclusive features of the Silver Belle include two sets of floor mats produced specifically for this model, custom chrome-like wheel finish, silver car cover with embroidered, red Lexus logo, and a red and silver engine cover to complete the look. Silver Belle owners will also enjoy knowing that their vehicle is stamped with a specially designated badge on the center console with its sequential production number (1 to 100) for true exclusivity.
Richly appointed, the Silver Belle melds sophisticated exterior styling, luxurious interior innovation, potent 300 hp all-aluminum, double overhead-cam, 4.3-liter V8 engine performance, and an elegantly designed retractable hardtop that transforms it from a 2+2 coupe into a convertible in less than 25 seconds with the push of a button. The hardtop folds gracefully out of sight; no need for latches or snaps, and thanks to a unique electronic motor, the top raises and lowers virtually silently. The powerful V8 is coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission to propel the vehicle from 0-60 mph in just 5.9 seconds.
Like the original SC 430, the Silver Belle also features the exclusive Mark Levinson(R) audio system. Known for its high-end home audio systems that typically cost anywhere from $20,000 to $200,000, Mark Levinson chose Lexus as the first and only automotive manufacturer worthy of featuring its system.
