Christopher J. Hamer Named OnStar Director Of Marketing Communications TROY, MI - Christopher Hamer has been named director of marketing communications for OnStar, OnStar President Chet Huber announced today. In his new role, effective today, Hamer will be responsible for OnStar's web strategy, advertising, promotions, and subscriber management activities. Hamer replaces Christopher Robinson, who is now director of diversity marketing and sales, African-American consumer marketing, for General Motors. Prior to joining OnStar, Hamer had been vice president, Online Strategy, for Priceline.com in Norwalk, Conn. In that position, he was responsible for developing an overall online marketing strategy, including creative; directing the ad agency; creating and implementing Priceline.com's wireless strategy; identifying and developing opportunities for cross-selling programs; and implementing customer repeat and retention programs. Before moving to the online strategy position in February 2000, Hamer was director of business development, Financial Services, for Priceline.com, where he managed all aspects of Priceline.com's mortgage offering. Before joining Priceline.com in March 1999, Hamer was vice president of sales for Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation in New York. Prior to that he was in business development, Small Business, for Smith Barney, and manager with the Entrepreneurial Services Group for Ernst & Young, LLP in New York. Hamer received his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Texas, Austin, in 1985.
