Mercedes-Benz Showroom on the Champs Élysées Opens Again after Extensive Remodeling
.

  • Up to 12,000 customers and visitors per day
  • Over 60 percent of the visitors from other countries
  • Mercedes-Benz Boutique: Products can now be ordered via the Internet
  • Professor Jürgen Hubbert: "Our showroom on the Champs Élysées is an international showcase for the brand."

Stuttgart / Paris – DaimlerChrysler reopened the historic Mercedes-Benz showroom on the Champs Élysées in Paris after almost four months of renovation. The company has had a showroom on what is probably the most famous street in the world since 1912. An average 5,000 people on peak days as many as 12,000 visit the roughly 1,000-square-meter location each day to find out about Mercedes-Benz products and current topics related to the brand.

"In addition to the many French customers and visitors, more than 60 percent of all visitors come from different countries around the world," says Professor Jürgen Hubbert, DaimlerChrysler Board of Management member responsible for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars and smart. "That makes our showroom on the Champs Élysées an international showcase offering us an ideal opportunity to present not only our products but, above all, our brand philosophy."

The new concept underlying the arrangement of the showroom on the Champs Elysées involves three areas. The centerpiece is the presentation of the products. In the two presentation areas, it is possible to display current products from the variety of Mercedes-Benz models as well as exhibition vehicles such as concept or vintage cars. The new C-Class sports coupe and the Mercedes-Benz CL are kicking off the vehicle exhibition area.

Another area hosts communications tools that provide information on Mercedes-Benz topics with contemporary relevance. Ten flat-panel screens are currently showing reports to accompany the Paris Auto Show, including live coverage of the event. The communications area also includes four interactive kiosks where visitors can surf through the world of Mercedes-Benz or use the "car configurator" to put together a vehicle by choosing the model, color and equipment options.

The Mercedes-Benz Boutique, which has attracted a great deal of interest, is located in the third area. There, visitors can find a variety of products ranging from key chains and handbags all the way to clothing collections. Articles from the Mercedes-Benz Boutique can now also be ordered on the Internet at www.mercedes.fr.
