DETROIT - Chevrolet announced new brand managers for three
long-standing Chevrolet products: S-10 Pickup, Corvette and Camaro.
James M. Campbell,
currently brand manager for Corvette and Camaro, has been appointed brand manager of the
S-10 Pickup. Campbell succeeds Debra Kelly Ennis, who was recently named Oldsmobile
general manager. Succeeding Campbell as Corvette - Camaro brand manager is Rick Baldick,
currently assistant brand manager - product for the Silverado full-size pickup.
Campbell and
Baldick will report to Kurt Ritter, Chevrolet general manager. The appointments are
effective July 1. "Jim has done a great
job elevating the Corvette brand, culminating
in the upcoming introduction of the new Corvette Z06 model," Ritter said. "This
new assignment is a great opportunity for him to broaden his experience on the ever
growing truck side of the business. "Rick
has been a key player in the launch of General Motors' best-selling vehicle -- the all-new
Silverado," Ritter said. "His technical background will serve him well as
Corvette continues to evolve technologically."
Campbell joined
the Pontiac Division of General Motors as a district sales manager in training in 1988. He
later worked as a district manager - telemanagement (1989), metro district manager (1991)
and manager - zone marketing and distribution (1993). Campbell's brand management
experience began as assistant brand manager (1994) for Pontiac's Grand Am. He worked as
midwest regional manager, Kansas City (1997-98) for Pontiac - GMC, before becoming
Corvette - Camaro brand manager (1998). Campbell holds degrees from the University of
Notre Dame and the University of Michigan.
Baldick joined
Chevrolet as a technical writer in 1972. He was an area service manager in Cleveland and a
fleet service manager in Syracuse before becoming a zone-merchandising manager in Memphis
in 1983. Baldick became assistant truck merchandising manager in Chevrolet central office
in 1986, and was named regional marketing manager for the Pacific coast region in 1992. He
became assistant brand manager - marketing for Silverado in 1996, and assumed the
assistant brand manager - product responsibility in 1998. Baldick is a graduate of
Northwood University.
