increasing production of mass-produced aluminum parts and making innovative developments
for vehicle weight reduction.
The
agreement is threefold parts
1. An
innovation and development contract for:
Automotive
products, in order to develop technically and economically effective solutions to increase
the use of aluminum in body, suspension, chassis and engine parts;
Processes, in
order to reduce the production cost of mass produced parts.
2. A
long-term supply contract, defining supply arrangements for aluminum semi-fabricated
products (casting alloys, rolled products and profiles).
3. An
action program to foster the recovery and recycling of aluminum, including the upstream
integration of recycling in design, re-use of process scrap of production plants and the
recycling of aluminum from end-of-life vehicles.
By entering into
this strategic partnership agreement, PSA Peugeot Citroën and Pechiney combine their
skills, enabling the automotive customer to benefit from the latest technological progress
