Mich. - Visteon Corporation announced the appointment of three outside directors, who join
Visteon Chairman, President and CEO, Peter J. Pestillo, as members of the company's Board
of Directors. The individuals selected, include: William H. Gray, III of Fairfax, Va. Mr. Gray
is President and CEO of The College Fund/United Negro College Fund (UNCF), a position he
has held since 1991. Prior to his UNCF appointment, Mr. Gray served in the U.S. Congress,
chairing the House Budget Committee as well as the Democratic Caucus. He also served as
Majority Whip and was the highest-ranking African American ever to serve in Congress. He
currently serves on the board of directors for such companies as Chase Manhattan Bank, EDS
Corporation and Pfizer Corporation.
Robert M. Teeter
of Ann Arbor, Mich. Mr. Teeter is President of Coldwater Corporation, a business
consulting firm specializing in the counseling of senior management in strategic planning
and communications. Prior to this, he held several senior management positions, including
President of Market Opinion Research from 1966 to 1987. He is a member of the Bank of Ann
Arbor and United Parcel Services' Boards of Directors.
Robert H. Jenkins
of Mequon, Wis. Prior to his recent retirement, Mr. Jenkins served as Chairman of
Sundstrand Corporation, as well as CEO and President of Sundstrand from 1995 to 1999.
Previously, Mr. Jenkins served in various senior management positions at Illinois Tool
Works. Prior to that, he had held positions with Xtex Inc., Scott Paper Company and E.I.
Dupont De Nemours and Co. Mr. Jenkins currently serves on the board of directors of AK
Steel Holding Corporation, CLACOR, Inc., Sentry Insurance, Solutia, Inc., and Pella
Corporation.
"Each of
these individuals bring a wealth of talent and diverse experience to our Board of
Directors," said Pestillo. "We wanted to be sure that the board overseeing
Visteon's future was well-rounded and had a global perspective. Creating the right board
is critical to our future."
