New Managing
Director for Mercedes-AMG GmbH
Product initiative: C 32 AMG and SLK 32 AMG to début in 2001 Ulrich Bruhnke is looking forward to what promises to be a particularly exciting period in the development of the business: "With its unique products, highly motivated workforce and extremely satisfied customers, Mercedes-AMG GmbH currently has a very strong market position. One of my key responsibilities will be to continue with the new product initiative which was started by my predecessor and which is set to take off in spring 2001 with the roll-out of the C 32 AMG compact sports saloon and theSLK 32 AMG high-performance roadster." The new head of Mercedes-AMG GmbH is also convinced that "demand for exclusive interior appointments - which is already being met by our designo range and our "Manufaktur" [the Mercedes-AMG in-house hand-finishing section] - will continue to enjoy strong growth. In the future, Mercedes-AMG GmbH will be listening all the more attentively to customers' wishes for vehicles which reflect an even more pronounced sense of individuality and which feature particularly select appointments." A dedicated engineer with a dynamic career path As a fully qualified mechanical engineer, Ulrich Bruhnke is well placed to continue the long tradition of engineering excellence which has made Mercedes-AMG (based in Affalterbach near Stuttgart) such a success. After a career of more than 20 years in the development division of the Stuttgart-based auto manufacturer, Ulrich Bruhnke brings with him the reputation of a dedicated and versatile engineer who is also ready to take an unconventional approach if it appears promising.
