At the 1999 Frankfurt International
Motor Show, Volkswagen presented the new study Bugatti
18/3 Chiron. The EB18-3 was produced by Giorgetto Giugiaro / ItalDesign under
contract of Volkswagen.

During the IAA opening Dr. Piech
announced, that steps are taken, to launch Bugatti's production in the French
Molsheim, the location, where already Bugatti himself started making cars.
As a first step the old guest house will be renovated.
The car is a 2-seater coupé
powered by a rear engine. The interior is classic, using finest materials
as leather and wood. Instrument panels are made of Aluminum alloy. For
the elegant traveler a specific luggage set was developed exactly fitting
into the front trunk.

Dr. Ferdinand Piech
enjoying this lovely piece of a car at the Frankfurt International
Motor Show, 1999. He told the press, that a decision
on whether the car will be build, will be made during the course of this
year.

The all new Bugatti EB 18/3
