. Becomes Eighth Chairman in Company's 100-Year History TOLEDO, Ohio - Dana Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has named president and chief executive officer Michael J. Burns to the additional post of chairman.
During his career with General Motors, he held a variety of positions in operations, engineering, administration, and sales before moving to GM Singapore in 1981 as operations manager for Delco Electronics. After joining the GM Treasurer's Office in New York, he was subsequently promoted to director of Overseas Financial Analysis. He returned to Delco Electronics in 1987, where he advanced through a series of increasingly responsible positions, eventually becoming GM vice president and general manager of Delphi Delco Electronics Systems, a position he occupied before his most recent role in Europe. A native of Monticello, Ind., Mr. Burns earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and a master's degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
