Audi TT and A4 receive WhatCar? Awards 2003

Ingolstadt/London - The Audi TT has been voted "Coupé of the Year" for the fifth time in succession by the well-known British motoring magazine "WhatCar?". The new Audi A4 1.9 TDI was named "Best Compact Executive Saloon".

The WhatCar? awards underline the continuing success of the Audi TT in the United Kingdom. In 2002, just under 9,000 TT Coupés and Roadsters were sold in what is the biggest export market for the Audi sports car. WhatCar? on the TT: "The TT is stunning inside and out. The cabin is a work of art with exquisite attention to detail and is just as stunning as its exterior. Many have imitated it, but none have matched its exquisite quality."

With its four-cylinder pump-injector engine, the A4 1.9 TDI is perfectly in keeping with the trend towards more economical and therefore tax-saving company cars in the United Kingdom, a market with a high proportion of company cars. WhatCar?: "With its beautiful styling and classy cabin, any executive could be happy to be seen in the A4. We love the way it cossets its occupants. Taking clients out in it will leave them unruffled and impressed."

WhatCar? was established 30 years ago and, with a circulation of just under 150,000, is one of the major British trade magazines. Over the last 12 months, more than 250 vehicles were tested and just under a million miles clocked up. According to independent surveys, over 25% of British new-car buyers read WhatCar? before deciding which car to purchase.
