First Edition Streetka Sells Out Within Three Weeks Of Going On Sale

BRENTWOOD - Immediately after Streetka made its UK debut at the Birmingham International Motorshow last month, Ford announced that a limited run of 1000 First Edition models would go on sale at an unbeatable price of £13,995

All 1000 First Edition models of the funky new Streetka have been snapped up within three weeks of Ford opening the order books.

But customers will not be disappointed, as another 5000 Streetka models are destined for the UK next year. There will be a choice of two specifications, the standard model priced at £12,495 will be well equipped with features including ABS, cloth roof, remote central locking, driver & passenger airbags, height adjustable driver's seat, 16" alloy wheels, alarm, power heated door mirrors, front fog lamps, CD player and power windows.

Priced at £13,745 the Luxury Streetka will have in addition to the above, as standard, leather trim, heated seats, height adjustable passenger's seat, air conditioning and heated windscreen. Option availability will include: Metallic paint,CD autochanger and Climate Pack (air conditioning and heated windscreen).

Designed by an in-house team lead by Ford design chief Chris Bird, Streetka has been engineered from the ground-up in a new relationship with the renowned Italian design house and coachbuilder, Industrie Pininfarina.

Working closely with Ford, Pininfarina has taken Streetka from show car concept to production reality in a mere 24 months. Although clearly based on the iconic Ka hatchback, Streetka effectively sits on bespoke chassis, is powered by a feisty new 95PS 1.6-litre Duratec engine and has had its suspension and steering tuned for sporty, dynamic driver appeal.

"We knew Streetka would be a sure-fire winner and this massive wave of demand shows that there's nothing out there that matches its looks or appeal. Early this year Streetka teamed up with pop music's hottest property, Kylie Minogue as sponsor of her 'fever' tour, Streetka has proved just as chart topping as Miss Minogue," said Paul Thomas, managing director, Ford Motor Company Limited.
