Porsche Consolidates its Presence in the German Capital

Eduard Winter Group Invests 8.2 Million Euros in new Porsche Centre in Berlin

Stuttgart/Berlin - Berlin now has a new, larger Porsche Centre. The new, architecturally elegant six-storey building in Franklinstraße was officially opened today attended by Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, president and CEO of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart; Sales and Marketing director Hans Riedel and Bernhard Maier, managing director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH, Bietigheim-Bissingen; as well as many local VIPs.

The Eduard Winter Group, which has already been the Porsche sales partner in Berlin for more than half a century, spent around 8.2 million euros for the new building, strategically located between Ernst-Reuter-Platz and the bank of the river Spree. With its showroom floor space of 2,200 square meters (23,681 square feet), divided between three levels, the new Porsche Centre offers more than enough room for exhibiting around 60 vehicles from the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer simultaneously. It is thus also ideally prepared for the upcoming introduction of the third Porsche model line after the 911 and the Boxster - the sporty off-road vehicle Cayenne.

Dr. Wiedeking pointed out that the market in Berlin still offered a great potential for Porsche: "Whereas there are 190 Porsche vehicles for every 100,000 inhabitants in Hamburg and even 366 per 100,000 residents in Munich, this figure is only 92 per 100,000 people in Berlin." The head of Porsche was confident that Germany's capital city would catch up soon. Wiedeking: "From now on, there will be no way around Porsche for anybody looking for a new sports car or a new sporty multi-purpose vehicle in Berlin."
