BorgWarner Supplies 4WD Systems to Kia Sorento

MARGAM, Wales - BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems is supplying four-wheel drive transfer case systems to Kia Motor Company of Korea for its new sport-utility vehicle, the Sorento. A larger, more powerful SUV than the popular Sportage, the Sorento is loaded with comfort and convenience features and provides exceptional off-road maneuvering. The Sorento is Kia's ninth new model for the U.S. market, and will also be marketed throughout Europe and Asia.

"The Sorento sets a new standard for value in the compact SUV segment," said Tim Manganello, BorgWarner President and Chief Operating Officer. "We are pleased about our new relationship with Kia, and look forward to exceeding this customer's expectations for leading-edge four-wheel drive technology." The systems will be produced and assembled at BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems in Margam, Wales.

Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea. Kia Motors Corp. is part of Hyundai, which is also a major customer of BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems in Korea. Both Kia and Hyundai are experiencing significant growth.
