Toyota Financial Services Forms Mexican Company to Complement Toyota's Entry into Mexican Market

Mexico City, Torrance - Toyota Financial Services (TFS) announced incorporation of Toyota Services de Mexico, which has been established to begin planning for finance and insurance operations to support the sales of Toyota vehicles in Mexico. The new company will be based in Mexico City and is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (TMCC) and Toyota Motor Insurance Services (TMIS).

"In May, Toyota Motor Sales, USA announced their intentions to enter the Mexican market, and the financial and insurance services offered by Toyota Services de Mexico is intended to complement their plans", said George Borst, President and CEO for Toyota Financial Services. "Mexico’s economic performance and stability make the decision to enter this market very easy. In addition, Toyota Services de Mexico will compliment each Mexican Toyota Dealer’s new business by being able to offer Toyota finance and insurance products to their customers."

The new company plans to be in operation by the second quarter of 2002, and will be sharing office space with Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico. The offices will be located at:

Tom Sullivan has been hired to serve as the Managing Director. He was previously the Managing Director of Toyota Credit de PuertoRico, and has been with TFS for 15 years. In addition to Tom Sullivan, 9 local associates will be hired to assist with the start-up of operations.
