Porsche : Manufacturing Siegfried Bülow is taking over the management of the Porsche factory in Leipzig
The "Cayenne", the third German sports car from Porsche, is to be launched on the market world-wide in 2002. The capacity of the production site in Leipzig has now been increased from 20,000 to 25,000 units due to the positive response from Porsche dealers and potential customers. As a trained toolmaker and chartered engineer, Mr. Bülow began his professional career in 1968 at the Barkas plants in Chemnitz, formerly known as Karl-Marx-Stadt. After holding various posts in production steering and controlling, Mr. Bülow was appointed production manager in 1988 and one year later he became plant manager. After re-unification, he became the manager of the re-named Barkas GmbH, Chemnitz, and played a crucial role with other colleagues in the develop-ment of the company's engine production. In July 1991, Mr. Bülow moved to Motorenwerk Chemnitz GmbH as managing director. Due to a joint venture, he completed a move to Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH in Mosel in April 1992, where he was responsible for engine production. In November of the same year, he took over the paint shop in the main VW plant in Wolfsburg as central department manager. In December 1994, he was appointed manager of VW vehicle program planning. Since November 1997 he has been responsible for the production of the Lupo model range. August 8, 2000
