From fuel technologies to video
games, Ford Motor Company's new innovation Web site has
something for everyone. The Web site, www.ford.com/innovation,
complements the "Driving American Innovation" national campaign
the company introduced last fall.
Ford Motor Company
Executive Chairman Bill Ford appears as host of the
site, welcoming users. Four drop-down navigation panels
give visitors a chance to explore different experiences
that highlight Ford advances in fuel technologies,
safety and design. Beginning today, the site will be
promoted through broad Internet advertising.
The mixed media Web site
features animated characters that introduce consumers to
Ford safety innovations, as well as video interviews
with top Ford designers who explain the company's
innovative design processes.
Consumers can click their way
through an interactive section that provides a fascinating look
at Ford's current and future fuel technologies like hydrogen,
hybrid and ethanol-capable vehicles. And, the "Innovation
Station" gives consumers, young and old, the opportunity to
select and accessorize vehicles and put them through their paces
in two video games – Dunk the Donut and Turbo Racer.
"We have been receiving positive feedback
about our Driving American Innovation campaign and this was another way
to reach out to and help customers better understand Ford Motor
Company," said Ford Motor Company Vice President and Chief
Communications Officer Charlie Holleran.
"More than 3 million Web
users log on to our ford.com website every month. We believe the
innovation link will draw even more Web surfers who will spend
even more time learning about our technological, design and
safety innovations."
The site builds on the national ad
campaign, allowing users to more fully experience how Ford
connects with customers. When users explore the site they learn
about innovative features on today's vehicles, as well as how
the company is anticipating future family needs when designing
vehicles of tomorrow.
