SAN FRANCISCO - With the
speed and precision of a NASCAR pit crew, the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger
will be built from a box full of parts before the eyes of passersby.
The Dodge Charger "Model
Box Build," which plays off a youthful passion for assembling model cars,
comes to Three Embarcadero Center in San Francisco, Wednesday, October 19
from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event begins with a
life-sized Dodge Charger model box lifting to reveal an all-new 2006 Dodge
Charger with many of its parts removed. A NASCAR-like pit crew assembles
the vehicle in approximately seven minutes. The model build is repeated
throughout the day, featuring music and Dodge Charger Daytona wristband
giveaways.
The Dodge
Charger -- one of the biggest, well-known names from the muscle car era --
has powered its way back to streets and racetracks across America, paying
homage to the muscle cars of the '60s, and adding 21st century performance
and functionality.
Available with a 250
horsepower High Output V-6 engine or the legendary 340 horsepower HEMI(R)
V-8 engine, the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger races into the car market with
contemporary, provocative styling and substance with all the convenience
of a modern sedan.
"With proven
rear-wheel-drive technologies and the legendary HEMI engine, we are able
to produce a modern muscle car with everyday functionality," said Craig
Love, Vice President - Rear-wheel Drive Product Team, Chrysler Group. "The
all-new Dodge Charger offers the perfect blend of performance, safety and
flexibility that today's market demands."
"The Dodge Charger Model
Box Build reflects the fun and excitement of the all-new 2006 Dodge
Charger," said Steven Landry, Vice President of Dodge Marketing. "We're
thrilled at the excitement and response the Charger Model Box Build has
generated and are very pleased to bring it to San Francisco."
