Stuttgart - In its 2003/2004
fiscal year, which just ended on July 31st, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG,
Stuttgart, has achieved a new record for registrations in Germany. The
total registration figure of 15,299 Porsche vehicles topped the previous
year's total of 13,266 units by 15.7 percent.
This growth was driven by the
Cayenne model range, which was supplemented by a six-cylinder model this
January. All in all, this sport utility vehicle accounted for 5,872 of the
new vehicles registered, representing an increase of 74 percent compared
to the previous year. There is also good news in the sports car segment:
although registrations for the Boxster, now in the eighth year of its
lifecycle, declined by 17 percent to 2,779, registrations for the 911
showed a slight increase of 0.3 percent to 6,506 units - the 911 thus once
again defended its superior position on the market.

This is all the more
remarkable because this success is based almost exclusively on the 911
generation (996 model line) that was launched in September 1997; the new
911 (997) has been available in German dealerships only since July 17th of
this year.
Bernhard Maier, Managing
Director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH: "In this recently completed
fiscal year, we were once again able to add another chapter to our success
story in Germany and continue the growth trend of previous years. With the
new Porsche 911, we have secured an excellent position in the competitive
environment and laid the foundation for continued growth. I base this on
the more than gratifying development in the number of orders we have
received for this car since its market launch in Germany."
