Chance To Play Golf With Tiger Woods Among Items Up For Bid In Buick Open Charity Auction

Grand Blanc, Mich. - A chance to play golf with Buick Touring Professional Tiger Woods is among several items available to the public in a special auction to raise money for the Buick Open charities. The items will be available for bid on ebay (go to www.ebay.com) starting at 10 p.m. (ET) on May 29th through June 5th.

 Among the other golf-related items available in the auction is an all expense-paid trip to meet and greet Tiger Woods at the Buick Scramble National Championships at the new Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando; a Pro-Am spot & trip for two to the 2005 Buick Invitational; and a tour for four of the Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla.

"There are some great items up for bid in the auction," said Larry Peck, Buick's Golf Marketing Manager. "This is a excellent opportunity to raise additional funds for the Buick Open charities and we encourage everyone to participate."


Buick is offering to the highest bidder a package that includes roundtrip airfare for two, hotel accommodations, and an opportunity to partner with Tiger Woods at the Buick Open Pro-Am in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 (or the next Buick-sponsored tournament that Tiger plays in). The starting bid is $10,000.

Also available is a package that includes airfare and hotel for two and one spot in the Pro-Am at the 2005 Buick Invitational in San Diego.

Golf fans can bid on a package that includes the chance to tour the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida. The package also includes one round of golf for four at the TPC at Sawgrass-Stadium Course, site of the THE PLAYERS Championship.

Buick is also offering additional exclusive items in a private auction held during the annual Buick Open Black Tie Gala on June 5th at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. A limited number of $250 tickets are available for the Gala by calling (636) 827-8362.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Buick Open charities including the American Red Cross, Whaley Children's Center, The Easter Seal Society, the American Lung Association of Michigan and many more. Buick has donated $6.4 million to charities throughout Southeastern Michigan since 1982, including a record $617,000 from the 2003 Buick open.

The 2004 Buick Open, scheduled for July 26-August 1 at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club, will offer a record purse of $4.5 million. The defending champion is Jim Furyk, who took home the $720,000 first prize from the 2003 Buick Open.
