Ford Maverick
The Focus C-MAX range is extended with the 2.0-litre, 145PS Duratec petrol engine, plus an advanced Durashift CVT Continuously Variable Transmission coupled to the 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi turbo-diesel. Ford's impressive 'Dura' powertrain range continues to grow. Coming later in 2004 are a new high-performance, 150PS version of Mondeo's Duratorq TDCi turbo diesel, and an innovative variable twin cam Duratec Ti-VCT petrol engine. A new 4-speed Durashift automatic transmission option is now available on 1.6-litre Duratec versions of Fiesta and Fusion. Ford's Visos Design Concept vehicle is turned "inside out" as part of a demonstration of current and future interior comfort and relaxation technologies. These include a Human Machine Interface (HMI) communications device, jointly developed with Sony. Ford Maverick 4x4 gets a fresh look inside and out, and expands its capabilities with a new 2.3-litre, four-cylinder engine, an Intelligent 4WD System, standard anti-lock brakes and the Safety Canopy curtain air bag system. Ford's all-new Fiesta Junior World Rally Car is due to debut on the 2004 Acropolis Rally in June. It has inspired the new Fiesta ST as the first production road car to emerge from the Ford TeamRS performance division. Announced at last year's Geneva Show, and led by Director Jost Capito. Ford TeamRS will also be responsible for bringing 101 examples of the stunning Ford GT to Europe, all of which have already been allocated to carefully chosen customers. Ford continues to apply Stage IV emissions capability to its engine range. Ford Fiesta TDCi and Ford Mondeo TDCi models can already be specified with Stage IV capability, with Ford Fusion TDCi models following in May 2004. Ford Focus C-MAX TDCi models can also be specified as Stage IV, via an optional Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). (February 23, 2004)
