Volkswagen has made new top management appointments at German and
international locations effective 1 January 2004.
Wolfsburg - Hans-Christian
Maergner (58), at present Managing Director of Volkswagen of South Africa,
will become the new President of Volkswagen do Brasil. An engineering
graduate, Maergner joined Volkswagen AG in 1969 and was responsible for
managing the Kassel plant before moving to South Africa. At Volkswagen do
Brasil he succeeds Paul Fleming (43), who will assume new responsibilities
in the Volkswagen Group.
Andreas Tostmann (41), at
present Head of the Salzgitter plant, will become the new Managing
Director of Volkswagen of South Africa. The engineering and economics
graduate has held posts in several technical departments in the Volkswagen
Group since 1990.

Manfred Mazen (52), currently
responsible for production at the Kassel plant, will become the new Head
of Salzgitter plant. The engineering graduate has held various posts with
the Volkswagen Group in drive train production in Germany and abroad since
1977.
