Stuttgart - On Saturday, December 7th, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, will launch its third model series in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets: as of tomorrow the Cayenne will be available in the showrooms of the 85 German, 26 Swiss and 13 Austrian Porsche Centres. Interested parties in these countries then have their first opportunity to look over Porsche's new sport utility vehicle at their dealer's "in the flesh" as it were, enabling them to gain an initial impression. Every Porsche Centre in the market region will have at least two cars at its disposal for presentation purposes - a Cayenne Turbo and a Cayenne S.

Series production of the Cayenne started up this year on August 20th. Since then the Porsche Leipzig GmbH subsidiary's state-of-the-art plant, where the sport utility vehicle (SUV) is built, has seen more than 800 units roll off the production line. Within the framework of a quality-controlled start-up, the production operation in Leipzig is slowly gearing up to the provisionally targeted daily volume of 120 vehicles.

During the course of the next few months the Cayenne will be launched in the other export markets step-by-step. "Significantly more than 100,000 potential buyers worldwide are waiting with baited breath to have their first test drive in the latest Porsche", explained Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, Chairman of the Executive Board at Porsche AG, "and as far as we're currently aware, we have already made firm sales of the first year's annual production figure of 25,000 units".
