Visteon Corporation Secures Contract With Toyota for Yaris Model PARIS - Visteon Corporation announced that its European operations has secured a contract with Toyota of Europe to supply interior, electrical and fuel-related components for the newly launched Toyota Yaris. For the first time, Visteon will be supplying Toyota with nearly 40 plastic interior trim and climate control components for the Toyota Yaris, which is being manufactured at the new Valenciennes plant. These components were developed and manufactured at Visteon's French facilities in Gondecourt and Bellignat. In addition to this contract, Visteon also has secured the engineering and development of the security electronics for the vehicle. The security electronics system was engineered and developed at Visteon's Technical Engineering Center in Cologne, Germany, and is manufactured at Visteon's state-of-the-art electronics facility in Cadiz, Spain. Visteon currently supplies a security electronics product for Toyota in North America, but this will be the first time this product is sourced with Toyota Europe. This contract enabled Visteon to achieve another "first" as the company also will supply the automaker with fuel systems components. These components were designed and engineered globally and manufactured at Visteon's Alba facility in Hungary. "This is a significant business win for us because this is the first time Visteon's European operations will supply Toyota of Europe," said Tim Sprunger, Platform Director for Visteon's Toyota Account. "We're very proud to be a supplier for the Toyota Yaris, which was voted European Car of the Year for 2000." (June 8, 2001) [Homepage] [
