Chrysler Group Names New Marketing Partners

Fusion 5 and Arnell Group to Provide Strategic Marketing Solutions

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Chrysler Group has named two new strategic partners to its marketing and advertising team.  Fusion 5 and the Arnell Group, both consultants in brand marketing, will work closely with PentaMark, Chrysler's lead advertising and marketing agency to help develop new business opportunities for the Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge brands.

The New York-based companies will offer unique expertise to Chrysler Group.  "Fusion 5 has the proven capabilities and experience to help align organizations and their various business components with sound growth strategies," said James C. Schroer, Chrysler Group Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  "Arnell Group has insight into the style leaders across all media.  Together with the leadership and expertise of PentaMark, these companies will help us leverage our brands in a manner that creates buzz, builds aspiration and inspires loyalty."

According to Schroer, Chrysler Group will identify and utilize new talent as its business needs dictate.  Earlier this year, the automaker announced the creation of five regional business centers that will give dealers and marketing specialists authority to initiate and develop advertising and marketing programs relevant to their local communities.

According to George Murphy, Chrysler Group Senior Vice President, Global Brand Marketing, Fusion 5 will collaborate with PentaMark to help provide integrated, non-advertising-related programs and strategies.  "For this reason, Fusion 5 is an obvious partner for Chrysler Group as we execute our regional business center strategy and reach for new customers," said Murphy.

"Specifically, we want to better tap into the youth market and Fusion 5 has shown creativity and insight in similar assignments at Coca-Cola, Disney and Ford Motor Company."

Meyer, along with co-founder Robin Austin, formed Fusion 5 in April 1994. Austin serves as the company's chief creative officer.  Since its inception, the company has earned a reputation for its cutting-edge brand strategy consulting.  Its clients have included Coca-Cola, AT&T, Nike, Disney and Proctor & Gamble.  Just recently, Fusion 5 was instrumental in helping Ford Motor Company market products such as the Focus and the Jaguar S-Type.

Both Meyer and Austin have extensive marketing experience.  Meyer formerly held senior management positions at the Coca-Cola Company, RJR Nabisco and the Gillette Company.  Austin has held senior-level positions at advertising agencies Y & R and McCann Erickson.
