Delphi Completes Specialty Electronics Inc. Acquisition Broadens Access to New Markets Through Connection Systems Customers TROY, Mich. - Delphi Automotive Systems announced that it has finalized the purchase of Specialty Electronics Inc. for $21.8 million. Specialty is a provider of electronic connector products and customized interconnect solutions to the telecommunications, computer, industrial electronics, medical and automotive markets, which fits Delphi's strategic expansion into new markets. The acquired business will be aligned with the recently established Delphi Connection Systems business unit, and will immediately assume the Delphi Connection Systems-Specialty Electronics name. The acquisition, which is expected to be financially accretive in the first full year of ownership, exceeds Delphi's long-term return objectives, and further positions Delphi to profitably grow Delphi Connection Systems' business in the telecom, computer peripherals and medical connection markets, as well as the automotive arena. In conjunction with this announcement, Erol Kirayoglu is named managing director of Delphi Connection Systems-Specialty Electronics, with continued responsibility to oversee the global operations and growth of the business. Kirayoglu was the co-founder of Specialty Electronics in 1984.
