The leading brand in Western Europe, Renault, along with Dacia and Samsung, increased first half 2001 unit sales by 11.6% in the rest of the world.
Renault confirms its position as the leading brand in Europe and continues its growth outside Europe Paris - In a more strained economic environment than was present in 2000, Renault confirmed in the first half of 2001 two of its strategic goals: a strong position on its domestic market, Western Europe; and the continuation of its international expansion, with group sales outside Europe up 11.6%, despite declines in some key markets. Accelerating sales of new products launched in the first half (Laguna II, New Clio), the introduction during the coming months of new models (a new Kangoo line, the new Trafic, Avantime) and the company's progress on new markets outside Europe all point to a recovery in sales growth in the second half of the year.
