| PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN and VIVENDI want to simplify
life for drivers by providing: All the information that they expect,
Accessible anywhere at anytime " whether the driver is in the car or not " on
all types of screens (PCs, mobile phones, onboard screens, and PDAs),
Throughout Europe, in the drivers own language,
In real time, with personalized, updated data,
All on one screen.
As a unique gateway to information dedicated exclusively to the world of the
automobile, the portal will offer European drivers 10 constantly upgraded services
designed to:
Improve driving safety, thanks to assistance and breakdown services, vehicle use
advice, and remote problem diagnosis. Make driving easier with pre-planned itineraries
displayed in the car or on a cell phone and access to traffic and navigation information.
Enhance driving comfort and enjoyment through practical services, such as the purchase of
online music and information on hotels, museums and restaurants.
To personalize these services, each driver will benefit from his or her own page and
car email address. Access to the Internet portal from the car will be voice activated,
while incoming information will, by default, also be reformatted for voice expression.
The portal is scheduled for market introduction in May 2000. The Peugeot 607 and the
Citroën Xsara Communicante will be the first two vehicles equipped for the new services,
beginning in fall 2000. The service will be introduced in France and gradually extended to
the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy.
By the end 2002, 80% of Peugeot and Citroën vehicles could feature equipment for the
services. The Group estimates that one million equiped Peugeot and Citroën vehicles will
be on the road by that time.
