The Colorado’s sister
model, the Trailblazer, is Chevrolet’s “haul-anything, go-anywhere” SUV.
It features a seven-passenger interior with best-in-class third-row
roominess. It also has off-road and towing capabilities as well as
premium ride and handling dynamics.
The Cobalt is a new
small car that offers segment-leading spaciousness, refinement,
affordability and style for customers in the world’s emerging markets.
It provides comfortable seating for up to five people along with
best-in-class trunk space. It also has a longer wheelbase and wider
track than most of its competitors.
In addition, Chevrolet
is showcasing the Cruze station wagon, the newest member of the global
small car family, and the Malibu global midsize sedan. Both are making
their Russian debuts. Also on display are the Corvette Stingray concept
and Youth Concepts, which were developed to solicit opinions from young
consumers on what they want in a vehicle. Other products in the show are
the Spark, Aveo notchback and hatchback; Cruze notchback and hatchback;
Orlando MPV, Captiva, Niva, Tahoe, Volt electric car and current and
vintage Camaros.
Chevrolet will also use
the Moscow show to profile its new infotainment system, MyLink, to
Russian customers for the first time. MyLink offers drivers new levels
of convenience and flexibility by bringing owner's smartphone
capabilities into the vehicle.
Chevrolet MyLink
aggregates content from the smartphone onto the seven-inch, high
resolution, full color touch-screen display. Connectivity will be
ensured via USB or Bluetooth for mass storage devices, including MP3
players, iPod and iPad. There is also a dedicated plug-in outlet for
certain personal music devices and smartphones that do not use USB or
Bluetooth connections.
The Chevrolet brand
continues to be a sales success in Russia. For the past five years it
has been the country’s best-selling foreign Automotive Brand. In 2011,
Chevrolet sold 173,484 vehicles in Russia, a 49 percent increase over
2010. According to Russia’s AEB Car Manufacturer Committee, from January
to July 2012 Chevrolet has sold 115,755 vehicles, an increase of 19
percent on the same period in 2011. The Niva small SUV and global Cruze
small car remain top Chevrolet sellers throughout the country.
