Audi is best in customer satisfaction in China

Audi A5

Ingolstadt/Shanghai/Beijing - Audi won two separate awards in China: The brand with the four rings took first place for the third consecutive time in the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2007 China Initial Quality StudySM. In addition, the Audi A6L, Q7 and R8 models were honored as the best cars of 2008 in their classes in the Chinese edition of “auto motor und sport” magazine. This represents a further chapter in Audi’s success story in the People’s Republic.

The J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2007 China Initial Quality StudySM once again confirms the high level of satisfaction among Audi’s customers in China. The study analyzed complaints from around 10,000 new car buyers within the first six months following purchase. For the third consecutive time, Audi was placed first among 41 brands, with the lowest number of complaints.

The Audi A4, produced in Changchun, finished at the top of a total of 63 models. Audi was able to reaffirm previous years’ results with outstanding assessments of its customer service, price/performance ratio and reliability. The expansion of the dealer network with what is currently 125 exclusive dealers in 85 cities, as well as continuously improved service performance, is the basis for this success.

J.D. Power Asia Pacific was founded in 1990. The company’s activities include preparing customer satisfaction studies for the automotive and financial sectors. In the analysis, which was performed for the eighth time, a total of 93 car models were examined. The study draws upon a survey of new car buyers who bought their vehicles between October 2006 and June 2007.

Audi also achieved outstanding results in the selection of “Best Cars” of 2008, which was based on a reader poll in the Chinese edition of “auto motor und sport” magazine. The Ingolstadt-based company boasted a total of three first-place finishes in the poll. The Audi Q7, which was introduced to the Chinese market in July 2006, left its competition in the SUV segment far behind.

The Audi R8, which has only been available on the Chinese market since January, went straight to the top of the list of sports cars. The Audi A6L has been the market leader in its segment for years, and has now prevailed in the “family car” category. The sedan, which is produced locally in Changchun, has been offered on the Chinese market since 2000 in an adapted, long version.

Audi is the market leader in China’s premium segment. The company achieved sales of more than 100,000 cars there for the first time in 2007. This represented a new sales record for the automotive company and an increase of around 25 percent compared with the previous year.
