Volkswagen Slovakia's President to become
CEO and President of Volkswagen do Brazil
Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft
announces the following personnel changes for its subsidiary VW
do Brasil (VWB):
Dr Viktor Klima (59), President of
VW Argentina and general representative of Volkswagen
Aktiengesellschaft, will assume overall responsibility for South
America at the turn of the year. He was appointed to Group
management in July 2006. In this function, Dr Klima will report
to Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Member of the Group Board of
Management for Procurement and the South America region.

The President and CEO of
VWB, Hans-Christian Maergner (61), who also reports to
Garcia Sanz, will retire at the end of the year as
planned.
Thomas Schmall (42)
- left -, Chairman of the Board of Management of VW
Slovakia, will then assume responsibility for Brazil. As
President and CEO of VWB, Schmall will report to Dr
Klima.
David Powels (44), currently
Member of the Board of Management for Finance and Corporate
Strategy at VWB, will be appointed Managing Director of VW of
South Africa with effect from 1.1.2007. He will be replaced by
Carsten Isensee (46), currently responsible for Finance at VW of
South Africa.
