Porsche achieves all-time registration record in Germany

Growth driven by new sports car generations

Porsche 911

Stuttgart - Porsche is still on its growth track, despite the weak economic situation in Germany. On its home market, the sports car manufacturer achieved in the first half of 2005 the best result in the history of the Company, with 9,850 new registrations, improving on the previous year's figure of 8,941 units by 10.2%. With 2,210 new registrations in June alone, it also achieved a new monthly record.

A key contribution to this increase was made by the new generations of the 911 and the Boxster, which were launched last year. For the 911, new registrations increased by 11% as against the first six months of 2004 to 4,484 vehicles, while the Boxster model series surged by 32% to 2,329 units. With 2,997 units, the Cayenne, the sporty off-road vehicle available in three versions, matched the previous year's high level of new registrations (minus 2%), and with 528 units achieved the best June result since its launch in 2002.

Bernhard Maier, Managing Director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH said: "The positive response to the launch of our new sports cars is clearly reflected in these figures. In 2005, we will continue this positive trend with further product innovations. In October, for example, we will launch the 911 Carrera 4 in four versions, and in November there will be a new highlight for our customers in the middle-engine coupé Cayman S."
