Porsche remains on track in North America

Deliveries stable, despite weather catastrophe in Florida

Stuttgart - In September 2004, Stuttgart-based Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, retained North American sales at the level of the previous year. Although the weather catastrophe in Florida - one of the most important Porsche sales regions in the USA - curbed customer demand, a total of 2,496 vehicles were delivered in the USA and Canada (previous year: 2,498 units). Deliveries thus remained at a high level.

The Boxster in particular was impacted by purchasing restraint in Florida. Deliveries declined to 172 vehicles after 450 units in the previous year. On the other hand, the 911 once again performed well. A total of 869 vehicles of the 911 series were delivered in North America (previous year: 865 units). The new 911 generation took a notable share. The trend towards the higher-priced 911 model variants such as the Carrera 4S cabriolet and Turbo cabriolet remains unbroken.

Sales of the Cayenne series were again pleasing, 1,432 vehicles were delivered in September (previous year: 1,183 units). Thus, more than one year after its launch in North America, the sporty all-terrain vehicle is continuing its success story in North America.
