In July
2004, Porsche delivered significantly more vehicles to North America
compared to the same month last year. In total, 2,850 vehicles were
delivered to customers in the USA and Canada; compared to the 2,694
units in July last year, that is an increase by six percent. As
was already the case in June, the Porsche 911 was also in high demand,
especially the Cabriolet versions of the Carrera 4S and Turbo as
well as the anniversary model "40 years of 911". In addition, the
new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S will be launched in North America
August 28, 2004. Porsche intends this to make the 911 range even
more successful in North America.
In total, the delivery
of 1,365 sportscars in July accounted for an increase by nine percent.
Of these, 482 units were Boxsters (a decrease by seven percent)
and 833 vehicles were 911 - an increase of 20 percent. Of the sporty
off-roader Cayenne, 1,461 units were sold (plus two percent).
In the business year 2003/04
that has just been completed (July 31), Porsche has thus been able to increase
its deliveries to customers in North America by 32 percent to 32,763 vehicles.
A total of 17,457 of these units were Cayennes.
