Action, Adventure And Innovation: Land Rover Presents The New 2004 Freelander in Frankfurt

Photo: Automotive Intelligence

Frankfurt - Land Rover comes to the Frankfurt Motor Show celebrating its 55th anniversary and the debut of a comprehensively revised Freelander range including a brand new Sport derivative. The new 2004 Freelander is the latest arrival in Land Rover's product offensive that started with the new Range Rover.

The New Freelander takes pride of place on the new Land Rover stand and improvements include a refreshed frontal appearance, giving Freelander the distinctive family face pioneered on the new Range Rover. New body-coloured bumpers front and rear, coupled with bold new badging, gives the latest Freelander a crisp fresh look. On the inside, 2004 Freelander receives a major makeover. A new facia and instruments, new door trims on five-door models and improved seats are just some of the detail changes made.

Discovery, which was substantially revised late last year, receives further improvements for 2004, with additional safety features and revised in-car entertainment systems.

Also on display at Frankfurt will be an example of the limited production G4 Edition. Based upon the vehicles that drew such attention in the recent global G4 Challenge, these limited editions will be available as Defender 90 or 110 Station Wagon and Discovery, and come equipped with a selection of special equipment. Highlights include 'A' -frame soft protection bars, lamp guards, side-runners, Black Mogul seats, air conditioning and CD player. These strictly limited editions will be available in the event colour scheme of Tangiers Orange and three other distinctive colours; Borrego Yellow, Zambezi Silver and Java Black.

New Range Rover, the highly acclaimed flagship of the Land Rover range, will also be prominent at Frankfurt. Making its debut into the German market is the Range Rover Autobiography. The Autobiography programme allows customers to take the existing extensive vehicle specification and develop it further. With a comprehensive menu of colours, options and trim combinations available, a customer can effectively specify a tailor-made Range Rover, one that fully meets his or her needs.

The iconic Defender cornerstone of the Land Rover line up, is available in 90, 110 and 130 wheelbases lengths and with a wide selection of bodywork styles, enabling the Defender to be adapted to an almost infinite variety of uses.
