Ford Names New Head For Asia-Pacific Marketing, Sales & Service

John Felice to spearhead Ford's marketing, sales and service strategies from Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand - Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of John Felice as executive director for its Asia-Pacific Marketing, Sales & Service operations.

Felice will be responsible for all marketing, sales & service strategies and initiatives for the Asia-Pacific markets -- Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, China, India, Japan, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Following his appointment, the Ford Asia-Pacific Marketing & Sales division has relocated its headquarters to Bangkok, Thailand. "The move to Bangkok puts us closer to the pulse of the markets, allowing us to understand our customers and their needs better. It also underscores Ford's commitment and confidence in the growth opportunities within the region. We intend to get more aggressive in increasing our market shares and become a leading automotive player in Asia-Pacific," said Felice.

Prior to assuming this role, Felice was the product marketing manager for Tough Truck with Ford Division in the U.S., where he contributed significantly in building the "Tough Truck" image for Ford.

Felice has extensive brand-knowledge. As the portfolio brand strategy manager for Ford Motor Company between 1999 to 2001, Felice was responsible for the development of the global brand positioning for Ford Motor Company's portfolio of vehicle and service brands. Having begun his career with Ford in April 1984, Felice has progressed through numerous management positions in sales and marketing including market research, franchising, advertising product planning, programming and distribution and field assignments in Washington D.C., Cincinnati, and Detroit.

Integral to the FAP marketing, sales & service team, are the appointments of Allen Benson and Michael J. Pease as Regional Operations Managers, Ford Asia-Pacific.

Benson was previously marketing and brand development manager with Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD), where he created new approaches for marketing and communications programs to grow retail sales. In his prior capacity as advertising manager for FCSD, Benson had developed creative and effective advertising campaigns to promote dealership service to customers. Benson has a wealth of experience in marketing, sales and service through various assignments in Denver, San Francisco and Cleveland.

Pease served as executive director of Ford Sales & Service (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a position he assumed in July 1999. Pease was instrumental in the relaunch of Ford in Thailand and specifically the development of the national distribution network, skills and technology transfer to the growing Thailand employee base, and the successful introduction of the Ranger pickup, as the primary product for Ford Thailand. The Ford Ranger went on to garner more than 10% within the next three years and set new standards for safety and performance in the segment.

In his new role, Pease would be responsible in developing regional strategies for Ford in the ASEAN markets - Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia as well as India; whereas Benson will be responsible for China, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. "The combined talents and experience of both Mike Pease and Allen Benson is an asset to FAP," commented Felice.
