Ford Launches Its First Ford Superstore In Indonesia Jakarta - PT Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI) launched its first Ford Superstore in Indonesia today, which will provide customers with a superior purchasing and ownership experience. The United States Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr Ralph Boyce, attended the event as Guest of Honor and officially opened the Ford Superstore. Located at TB Simatupang, South Jakarta, the first Ford dealership appointment is P.T. Selarus Nusa Abadi, which will trade as FORD JAKSEL. Set to place Ford at the forefront of modern automotive retailing in Indonesia, every Ford Superstore will be built to Ford's Brand@Retail global standards. Each one will offer stylish, spacious, comfortable and modern facilities to provide the best customer experience and customer satisfaction possible. Expected to break new boundaries in design and servicing, the Ford Superstore experience will bring to life the progressive, smart and 'can do spirit' that's synonymous with the Ford brand. "Ford's retail strategy for Indonesia is to have fewer, larger, well-established dealerships that have industry-leading facilities and provide industry-leading customer satisfaction," said Will Angove, President Director, PT Ford Motor Indonesia. All Ford Superstores planned for Indonesia will share a consistent showroom layout, use of color and signage and Ford believes Indonesia will be the first country in the world to achieve the Ford Brand@Retail standards throughout all its dealerships. Every Ford Superstore will be fitted with children's play areas, coffee bars, comfortable seating and the latest interactive merchandise displays. In addition, Ford will also offer all customers an interactive servicing experience aimed at keeping the customer fully informed and at ease when their vehicles are due for service or repair. When the customer arrives with their vehicle a qualified Service Advisor will put it on a hoist. The customer and Service Advisor will then inspect the vehicle together, allowing the customer to see and understand whatever service and maintenance work is being recommended for their vehicle. Ford's second superstore, currently under construction in Slipi, will be run by P.T. Wahana Auto Ekamarga and will be known as FORD JAKARTA BARAT. It's scheduled to open in May 2002 with a third Jakarta superstore to follow. Further Ford Superstores are planned for key cities throughout Indonesia. The launch of Ford's first superstore also showcased Ford Ranger, the 4x4 Ford Ranger pick-up, its first product launched in Indonesia. The Ford Ranger has the "Built Ford Tough" feature - a great looking, but tough pick-up that is equally at home working hard or providing drivers with 4WD adventures. The Ford Ranger pick-up is available in both Single-Cab and Double-Cab models, with the Single-Cab having both pick-up box and chassis cab versions. Available now, Ford Ranger will be closely followed by the launch of Lynx and Escape later this year. Each model is designed with a versatile and space efficient interior package, active and charismatic exterior styling as well as strong and capable engine performance. The Ford operation in Indonesia is backed by Ford's strong presence in the ASEAN region. Headquartered in Thailand, Ford ASEAN Operations covers the company's vehicle manufacturing and distribution in five markets within the South East Asian region, including Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and now Indonesia.
