Andrej Barcak To Take Over European Remarketing And Used Vehicles

Rüsselsheim/Zurich - As part of its 'Olympia' program, Opel is planning to significantly expand its used-car activities. The company has put Andrej Barcak (55), currently Management Board member responsible for Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, in charge of developing this project that will eventually result in an independent Opel/Vauxhall used-car brand.

As Executive Director, European Remarketing and Used Vehicles, Barcak will assume responsibility for all of Opel and Vauxhall's used-car activities in Europe effective November 1, 2001.

Dr. Uhland Burkart

The Supervisory Board of Adam Opel AG has appointed Dr. Uhland Burkart (50) to succeed Barcak as the new Management Board member in charge of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, effective November 1, 2001. Dr. Burkart has been Executive Vice President in charge of BMW Motorcycles' worldwide sales and marketing since 1994.

"We appreciate his bringing all the experience he gained in various functions in international sales to his new position which is of extraordinary importance for the future development of our business.
