Land Rover Freelander Wins Fleet Award
The Land Rover Freelander has been voted "Best 4x4" in the influential Fleet News 1999 Awards. The all-new, recently launched Discovery, was also Highly Commended.

Launched just over a year ago, Freelander three-door and five-door models have successfully provided drivers with car-like handling and performance while also offering genuine off-road 4x4 styling and capability. Freelander is particularly popular with female drivers/owners.

The new Discovery was launched at the beginning of this year and features leading-edge technology such as Active Cornering Enhancement, four-wheel Electronic Traction Control, Electronic Brake Distribution and rear Air Suspension.

The awards were presented to Rover Group corporate sales director Steve Harris. He said: "I am delighted that the Freelander and Discovery have deservedly received such prestigious accolades."
