Automotive, Inc. Acquires Leading German Automotive Supplier, Wackenhut GmbHcc

TROY, Mich., June 29, 1999 - Oxford Automotive, Inc. has
signed an agreement to purchase leading German automotive supplier Gebr.Wackenhut GmbH,
based in Nagold, Germany. Oxford Automotive Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer
Steven M. Abelman made the announcement today. "Wackenhut is a perfect strategic
acquisition for Oxford Automotive. It has a history of innovation and problem solving in
addition to being a supplier of first rate products," said Mr. Abelman. "This
acquisition complements our existing stamping and equipment expertise and marks our second
acquisition in our European growth strategy. It also proves our commitment to becoming the
leader in supplying integrated metal forming systems to OEMs worldwide." Wackenhut's
main products are complex stampings and assemblies, including the production and surface
treatment of truck cabs. Wackenhut has an excellent reputation for high-quality products
and holds a superior market position as a full service supplier with their complete value
production chain from tooling to surface treatments. Wackenhut has strong and long
established relationships with Germany's major automotive manufacturers, including
DaimlerChrysler, Audi, VW and BMW.
Wackenhut, founded in 1933 as a coach manufacturer, supplies the automotive industry
with sheet metal processing, including tooling, stamping, assembly and surface treatment.
Wackenhut, with annual sales of approximately $61 million, employs approximately 500
employees in three production facilities located in Altensteiger Strasse, Iselshausen, and
Wolfsberg, Germany. These facilities are all ISO and VDA 6.1 certified.

Motor Holding Announces Record First Quarter 1999 Registrations

BOLOGNA, Italy, 29 Jun 1999
- Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. (NYSE: DMH; Borsa Italiana S.p.A: DMH), a leading
manufacturer of high performance motorcycles, today announced record official registration
data for the fiscal 1999 first quarter. For the period ending March 31, 1999,
year-to-date motorcycle registrations increased 11% to 6,915 bikes, from 6,217 bikes
registered during the first quarter of 1998. As previously anticipated, in the key German
and North American markets, registrations rose nearly 50% and 40%, respectively. |
