Concept car D-Compact X-over Based on the concept of "harmony with nature," the D-Compact X-over was created jointly by Daihatsu and Italy's Italdesign led by Giorgetto Giugiaro. This new concept crossover vehicle from Daihatsu features a glass roof that extends from the edge of the windshield to over the rear seats, a front end that is pleasant and friendly in appearance, and a sleek, flowing side silhouette.
The Materia is a unique and emotional multi-purpose vehicle for families, which boasts characteristic styling and the practical performance of a compact car. The comfortable ride, whether driving on city streets or expressways, is achieved through a newly developed high-output high-torque 1,500cc engine and a minimum turning circle of only 9.8m. The Materia is scheduled to go on sale in Europe in early 2007.
