Saturn's Mid-Size LS Wins Drivers' Choice AwardTROY, Mich. - The new mid-size Saturn LS has won the 2000 MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Award for Best Family Sedan. A national production of Maryland Public Television, MotorWeek evaluates over 150 vehicles each year before selecting the benchmark vehicle in each of 10 categories.
"The MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Awards are based on a compilation of criteria such as product integrity, performance, pricing, value and purpose," said John H. Davis, executive producer and host for the weekly television show. "These awards acknowledge the industry's outstanding automotive product and design for each model year."
"The new Saturn LS provides excellent performance, exceptional value and Saturn's industry-leading retail experience," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn vice president of sales, service and marketing. "We created the Saturn LS to compete with import sedans like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, and we are honored that public television's MotorWeek has recognized the LS with its Drivers' Choice Award."
Introduced in the summer of 1999, the Saturn L-Series is available as a mid-size sedan (LS) or wagon (LW) with a choice of four-cylinder or V6 engines. Features include four-wheel independent suspension and dent- and corrosion-resistant polymer bodyside panels, which help keep Saturns looking newer, longer.
